Movie Review Star Wars - 1971 Words
Star Wars has become an American classic in pop culture. George Lucas is the brilliant mind behind the movie who came up with all of what we call now Star Wars. He is the creator of such a brilliant phenomenon in the pop culture. He could not do this all by himself, there were many people involved in the production of the movies. An essential factor to the production of the movies is the music. Lucas decided to give that responsibility to John Williams, a well-known composer, because he had listen to his outstanding work done to other movies. He was looking for someone with that particular detail to the classical orchestral music. Williams wrote all the scores for all the Star Wars Movies. This was a great responsibility, but nothing thatâ⬠¦show more contentâ⬠¦Williams is famous for the use of the leitmotifs which he practiced this in the first trilogy greatly. In the prequel or second trilogy we see less of the use of leitmotifs, but can still find that connection between th e characters and the music. The romantic themes such as: Leiaââ¬â¢s theme, Han and Leiaââ¬â¢s theme, Luke and Leiaââ¬â¢s theme, Motherââ¬â¢s theme and the Love theme, also known as Across the Stars, are played throughout the Star Wars saga in different movies and different parts to create that sense of romanticism and giving that utterly necessary feminine touch. Leiaââ¬â¢s theme is beautifully constructed with horns, flutes, violins and winds in between parts of the melody. It is a soft and sweet mellow that transmits a sense of beauty not only to Princess Leia, but to the song itself. The theme is first played in Episode IV: A New Hope, the first movie of the trilogy. At first it may be strange to have this consuming feminine melody being related to Princess Leia. The theme goes more along the lines of a romantic, vulnerable, and passive woman; to which Princess Leia is the total opposite to. Princess Leia is an independent, courageous and strong woman that is able to take care of herself without a Prince Charming.
